Woodland Wedding In Centralia, WA
I love it when our couples bring in elements to make their day special and about them, their love and their families. Alisha & Spencer went above and beyond to make this day special for themselves as well as their guests. They decided to have their celebration at Spencer’s grandparents farm in Centralia, WA. They had to do some work but it all paid off with the gorgeous spot they picked out for their ceremony, the fun picnic tables they collected for months and all the little details around the barn and reception area to keep their friends and family cool and enjoying their day.
Tucked down a path in the woods they dug out ferns and cut down a few trees to build this gorgeous platform to say their vows while their guests sat in amphitheater style seating on the benches they made. I was blown away at how it looked when we walked down the path with bucked of flowers to design on the arch. I just kept thinking how many couples dream of a place just like this to get married.
The soft shades of blush and peach really stood out against the ferns, trees and the grounds of the farm.
I have said it before but one of my very favorite things is when past couples are at the wedding of the current couple! One of Alisha’s bridesmaids was a past bride from the previous year. And to make it even more of a small world, Alisha and her brother’s went to the same high school as I did. Her and her brother’s were younger, but not by too much and I remember them all though school. We realized this at past bride, Tanya’s wedding! This added layer to their day just makes my heart so full.
The design for their tables came from a few things. They wanted a laid back feel with sitting in picnic tables that they had collected for months. They had found a few vintage bottles on the farm property and then started collecting all different sizes and shapes that we added dahlias and other in-season blooms to look like they grew in the garden and were cut that morning. At each table, they had old family pictures to talk and laugh about. And the sweetest touch, each table had a small vase of daisies that Alisha’s mom had in her bouquet at her parent’s wedding. I love how much they thought about what they wanted for their design as well the significance of these details.
It was such a fun and gorgeous day that felt so easy and laid back just as Alisha & Spencer wanted. I loved working with this couple and getting to know what kind of design and day they wanted for themselves, their friends and their families.
