VINTAGE VALENTINES DAY IN OCTOBER AT AXIS PIONEER SQUARE, SEATTLE
When Valentine’s Day has a special place in your heart and you want that to be your wedding day, but we are still dealing with the affects from a pandemic, what do you do? You do what Alexia & Brian did. Bring Valentine’s Day to October! That’s right, we transformed Axis Pioneer Square into a vintage Valentine’s explosion of love!
These amazing vintage inspired paper goods of adorable cherubs, hearts and birds from Chloe Clarke Paper were absolutely perfect. From their invitations to their name place cards.
The ceremony had gorgeous vintage lanterns from Vintage Ambiance hanging over the chairs along with garlands of valentine’s colored carnations. Alexia made a heart shaped arch that we covered in carnations, roses and dahlias. So lush and full, it was the perfect backdrop for the couple.
The couple went for a more traditional route and opted to see each other for the first time as Alexia walked down the aisle. She looked amazing in her long veil and Geisha inspired hair. His reaction is priceless. Her dress of course was vintage and gorgeous. Brian wore a bold chartreuse suit that looked so good against the bright blue of the groomsmen. The bridesmaids wore the richest burgundy velvet dresses that were prefect against the bouquets of pinks, white and hot pink. Loved how they went bold and unique.
The wedding party went out during cocktail hour to take group photos. It was a brisk but beautiful day in Pioneer Square. The pictures against the red bricks of Occidental Park and along the buildings were a prefect accent to their attire.
This group was ready to party and the reception set the tone. Tables of vintage trays, candle holders and old Valentine’s flower vases that Alexia had collected for months before the big day. All the details came together and really showed the couple’s love of Valentine’s day and all things old. Their cake by Honey Crumb Cake Studio was a three tiered old school cake that probably reminds you of a 1970’s wedding!
This was such a fun wedding to design for. Unique, different and really showed the personality of the couple. Alexia had ideas, wanted to DIY some elements but also trusted our design and ideas. It was a perfect match. It was such a beautiful day that we can celebrate every Valentine’s Day as well as their anniversary in October.
